NIOS takes glaucoma as conference theme

Optometrists, dispensing opticians and ophthalmologists were among the 120 delegates at the Northern Ireland Optometric Society (NIOS) conference hosted at the Galgorm Resort and Spa, Ballymena, last month.

The opening morning took glaucoma as its theme with Professor Ted Garway-Heath (right) of Moorfields and Professor Augusto Azuara-Blanco (left) of Queen’s University and Royal Victoria Hospital presenting.

A charity dinner at the event hosted by NIOS president Faith Mills (centre) raised more than £1,500 for disability and development charity CBM.
