NKL and Menicon agree partnership

Lens manufacturers NKL and Menicon have formed a partnership to collaborate all areas of operations including R&D, manufacturing, logistics, marketing and global sales.

Menicon will distribute NKL’s contact lenses through its European subsidiaries in the UK as well as France, Germany and Spain. NKL will manufacture and distribute contact lenses with Menicon materials as well as its lens-care products in the Dutch market.

The companies have agreed that Menicon will participate in the shareholding of NKL while Henk van Bruggen will remain managing director of NKL.

‘This strategic alliance will bring enormous opportunity for NKL,’ he said. ‘Menicon has now entered the second largest GP market after Japan and the collaboration with NKL is a very important step for our expansion in Europe.’
