No need to rub, says Alcon

Alcon has announced that Opti-Free express disinfection solution now has a Ôno rubÕ indication. As a result, all new packaging for Opti-Free express will contain Ôno rubÕ labelling. However, patients can still rub their lenses if they choose to. The packaging is being introduced to practitioners over the next month. The formulation of the product has not changed; it still contains Polyquad and Aldox. The company states that enhanced disinfecting and cleaning properties, plus stand alone activity against Acanthamoeba cysts, led to this multi-purpose solution being awarded FDA and CE-mark approval for labelling.
