Optician is sad to report the death of optometrist Nutan Kalia after a long battle with cancer. Her husband, Primesh Kalia, has offered his thoughts.
‘Nutan was head girl at Townfield girl’s school in Hayes and was the first person in her extended family of eight uncles’ and aunts’ children to go to university, where she studied optometry at Manchester University from 1975 to 1979.
‘She did her pre-registration year at Guys Hospital and purchased her first practice in 1985 in Shepherds Bush, West London, where she worked for 12 years. She managed to balance work and her personal life with two loving sons and her husband whom she had known for 38 years and married for 32 years.
