Oakley has introduced its plastic Milestone model exclusively for Vision Express along with a new version of its Crosslink frame.
The two new designs were revealed a premiere in London attended by cycling superstar, Mark Cavendish. The frame has the look and weight of high tech metal but uses a plastic Oakley calls NanOmatter. The plastic is formed using shapes taken from construction beams to produce I-sections which go down to 1mm thick. The frame comes in three colourways of black, blue and silver and offers a durable alternative to acetate, said Oakley.
Mark Harris, product manager - ophthalmic lenses & consumables said: ‘The comfort and strength are the two big things. It’s that lighter, stronger feeling.’ The Milestone also has grippy, Unobtanium, sleeves on the sides to ensure a safe fit.
