Obituary Ð Stephanie Nixon

Optometrist Stephanie Nixon (nee Pryke) died at the end of last year.
She was a student at City University from 1968 to 1971 where she met and later married fellow optometrist Tony Nixon. They set up a practice partnership in Wiltshire with another college friend which has been going for 26 years.
Ms Nixon was diagnosed with a brain tumour eight years ago and was left seriously handicapped after a second operation three years ago.
Colleague Elizabeth Shaw said: ÔShe had to give up the work she loved, and bore it all with great spirit. She was very committed to the profession, but had many interests outside it including her local church, gardening, flower arranging and reading. The funeral was conducted in a packed church, exactly as Stephanie would have wished with a lot of humour brought into a beautiful service. She and Tony provided a great example of how to cope in adversity and she will be much missed.Õ
