Optician is sad to report the passing of optometrist Trevor Morgan, who died peacefully at home on September 7, 2023 after being diagnosed with cancer.
Morgan trained in optics at the Northampton College of Advanced Technology (now City, University of London) and was admitted to the Opticians Register in June 1961.
He married Brenda, a mathematician, in 1962 and worked with his parents at an independent practice in Ammanford from the early 1960s. He then provided services from satellite locations within chemists in Killay and Llandovery from the early 1970s.
Morgan’s son Paul qualified as an optometrist in 1990 and practised in Neyland, Pembrokeshire where they were among the first in Wales to offer fundus photography.
