OCL Vision hosts independent prescribing CPD event

OCL Vision hosted a CPD-accredited event for independent prescribing optometrists with the Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham Local optical committee (LOC) on February 20 at the OCL Vision Kensington clinic.

Lead optometrist Purvi Thomson led the peer review event as part of the OCL Vision Academy, which aimed to enhance the prescribing knowledge of optometrists who had already undergone further training.

Consultant ophthalmologists Romesh Angunawela, Ali Mearza, Chien Wong and Sally Ameen delivered interactive case discussions covering topics related to glaucoma, corneal and vitreoretinal conditions.

Ali Mearza, consultant ophthalmic surgeon and co-founder of OCL Vision, said: ‘Our partnership with the Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham LOC allows us to extend our reach to more optometrists and make our events some of the most credible in the industry.

‘Our mission is to make the OCL Vision Academy a leading ophthalmic educational platform and provider of CPD accredited events in the UK. We are excited to continue this commitment to strengthening our relationship with independent optometrists.’
