OCL Vision's 'pioneering' Vivinex lens implants

OCL Vision was the first independent eye surgery provider to offer the new Vivinex Impress lens replacement treatment, developed by Hoya Surgical Optics.

The new intraocular lens enables simultaneous correction of distance and intermediate vision and is available for people unsuited to multifocal lenses due to retinal issues or dry eye.

A preloaded injector system delivers the intraocular lens through a 2.2mm incision in the cornea without the need to enlarge the wound prior to implantation.

Consultant ophthalmic surgeon and co-founder of OCL Visio, Ali Mearza, performed the first UK surgery on cataract patient David Killengray, CEO of Spectrum Ophthalmics (both pictured above), who described results as ‘life-changing’.
