An office worker will spend almost 1,700 hours a year in front of a computer screen, according to a recent study.

This equated to roughly six and a half hours a day sat at a computer or laptop. A total of 2,000 office workers took part in the study, which revealed that one in five people hadn’t visited their optician in more than two years. More than half of the people admitted they paid less attention to their eye health than any other part of their general health.

Out of those who don’t take regular screen breaks, 48% said they suffer from symptoms of dry eyes or tired eyes and 37% attributed headaches to excessive screen use. However, 53% of people have aimed to take regular screen breaks to avoid eye strain or tiredness.
