Only one week left to enter Optician Awards

Optician Awards

Time is running out to get your entries in for the 2013 Optician Awards with just a week left before the closing deadline.

A record 17 trophies are up for competition with accolades open to optical professionals in all areas of practice and practices of all different types.

The Optician Awards process has established itself as the original and most prestigious mark of excellence for the whole of optics. In addition to awards for optical professionals and practice staff there are also categories for optical companies, products and suppliers.

Areas of excellence for practices in the spotlight this year include business, with a Business Excellence Award sponsored by AEL and the return of the Start Up Practice of the Year Award. Other areas of specialism include the Dry Eye Award sponsored by Spectrum Thea and the Luxury Eyewear Retailer of the Year Award.

A full list of categories and instructions on how to enter can be found at www.opticianawards.com. Further tips on what your entry should include can be found in our series of articles which ran late last year (starting November 23). Entering couldn't be more simple as just a short online submission is initially required. This can be backed up with other supporting materials as desired.

Each of the awards will be judged by its own panel of experts on February 8 and a list of finalists revealed in Optician the following week. The names of the winners will be revealed at a black tie evening of entertainment on April 13, the Saturday night of Optrafair. The presentation will be hosted by an A-list celebrity at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham with around 500 guests from the UK optical profession and industry in attendance.
