OO given warning by GOC

Fitness to practice

Optometrist Roger Robinson has been given a five year warning and had his suspension order revoked by the General Optical Council's fitness to practise committee.

Robinson was suspended in September this year after the GOC found he had not applied for retention, did not satisfy insurance cover requirements, and was not carrying out CET.

Last week's hearing made a number of allegations of professional deficiency against Robinson, who was not in attendance. Two allegations out of 23 relating to eye examinations and record keeping between 2007 and 2008 were proved by the committee, who nevertheless ruled he was guilty of deficient professional performance.
