operation nightrider: Vision Aid Overseas chairman Marcus Swalwell will cycle 100km overnight through London on June 11 to raise awareness of and funds for the charity's work in Africa. Hoping to raise £2,000, Swalwell said that the fundraising was inspired by seeing 'how opticians give up their holidays and pay their own way to the remote villages in Africa to spend all day testing and correcting the sight of hundreds of people'.
