Optegra initiates Brighton clinic

Optegra Eye Clinic Brighton opened to provide free cataract surgery within six weeks of referral, as part of efforts alongside the NHS to reduce waiting lists.

The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, councillor Lizzie Deane, cut the ribbon for the official hospital launch on March 28.

Richard Armitage, NHS director at Optegra, said: ‘We are eager to continue supporting the NHS as ophthalmology is the second largest waiting list for treatment. Our new specialist clinic ensures that individual patients in the region can access cataract surgery in a timely fashion.’
