Optegra Manchester links up with Eastern Cheshire CCG

Optegra Manchester has been selected to receive all referrals from Eastern Cheshire CCG

Optegra Eye Hospital in Manchester has been selected to receive all non-emergency eye surgery referrals from Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The 21 ophthalmic surgeons that work at the specialist eye hospital in Didsbury would be receiving referrals from 16 GP practices in the region. The hospital treats NHS, medical insured and self-pay patients and offers vision correcting services such as refractive lens exchange and laser eye surgery. It also treats patients with medical conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, retinal problems and age-related macular degeneration.

Rory Passmore, Optegra UK’s managing director, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to extend our services to even more people throughout Eastern Cheshire by progressing this contract with immediate effect. With our strong surgical team, we have capacity and facility to meet the needs of these additional patients. So, for example, if a patient arrives for cataract surgery and through our extensive eye testing the surgeon diagnoses a further eye condition, we can treat it all, under one roof.’
