Opti Zurich exhibition attracts strong interest

Opti Zurich, the new optical exhibition to be held this September, has claimed it has attracted substantial interest for its inaugural fair. Bausch & Lomb, Ciba Vision and Rodenstock are among the names which have agreed to exhibit at the first show.
Organisers of the two-day exhibition (September 9-10) have announced that a second hall in the Zurich Trade Fair Centre will be used after it was earlier envisaged that only one would be taken up. The two halls will accommodate 170 exhibitors in an 8,000sq m area.
The exhibition has been organised by OK Messen, the group behind Opti Munich, JanuaryÕs annual optical event which started life in 1997.
Trade show impresario Dr Arno Jaeger, managing director of OK Messen, said the new show had had a positive launch.
ÔWe have succeeded in mounting the first ever international trade fair for optics and eyewear in Switzerland, which can hold its own within the European trade fair calendar,Õ he said.
