Optical Express goes off the Beatson track

Optometrists, dispensing opticians and support staff from Optical Express raised over £7,000 for Beatson Cancer Charity after participating in a 10km walk around Glasgow.

A team of 34 people took part and the money raised will support the charity’s work on patient wellbeing, clinical research and education.

Carrie Orr, Optical Express campaign coordinator, who took part in the walk, said: ‘I enjoyed the walk so much, there was such a feeling of camaraderie among my colleagues and to do this again for such an important and worthwhile cause makes it even more special.

‘The cause is very close to my heart so I felt proud to participate and I am delighted by the fact that Optical Express continue to support this fantastic charity. The sun came out for us, and we were incredibly proud of ourselves when we finally reached the finish line, knowing the difference the money we raised will make.’

Friends, family and colleagues donated to the charity and Optical Express CEO and founder, David Moulsdale, contributed £3,000 on behalf of the Moulsdale Foundation.
