To help maintain the refractive surgery market in 2009, Optical Express intends to share its research findings and skills with its competitors.
Ophthalmologist Dr John Vukich of Optical Express USA explained how it was in the company’s interests to ensure its rivals’ work did not alter public perception of laser surgery.
Speaking recently at the Optical Express annual refractive surgery conference at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham, Vukich claimed that all providers would suffer from a decrease in public opinion due to a diminished market for everyone.
According to Vukich the strategy of ‘transforming from a consumer of medical education to become an exporter of medical expertise’ would also benefit Optical Express by raising its stature and reputation, reassuring patients and muting its detractors.
