Optician adds design and enhanced service accolades to 2015 Optician Awards

The 2015 Optician Awards website is now open providing a comprehensive line up of categories available along with full details of how to enter, information on the sponsors plus news of two brand new Awards.

Trophies new for 2015 are The Enhanced Service Award and the Window Display of the Year which is sponsored by Luxottica.  As well new Awards a total of 17 Awards are available which cover all areas of the professions and industry. Awards are available for practices, individuals, teams and there are categories for products.

Those wishing to enter the Awards should read through the categories on offer, select the ones that suit them best and then study the entry criteria. Optician has also published an article on how to win an Optician Award.

Each year Optician reviews the Award categories to pick up on breaking trends and this has resulted in two new categories for 2015.

The Window Display of the Year will be judged from photographs sent in by entrants and the judges will be looking for fresh and clean designs. Three good quality photographs of each window should make up each entry along with a statement telling the story behind the window design.  For full entry criteria go to www.opticianawards.com.

To pick up on recent changes to the NHS and the expanding role of clinicians in practice Optician has also launched the Enhanced Service Award. This will be presented to a practice which has excelled in offering enhanced service pathways beyond optometry either through the NHS or as part of private practice.The award will be presented to a practice that has embraced the idea of community eyecare by offering primary health services in practice and working with local secondary healthcare providers.
