Carl Zeiss is to hold a series of training courses across the UK in September, October and November. Topics include optical coherence tomography, visual fields and advanced optical biometry. Workshops will be included as well as guidance on protocol and key principles. The courses begin in Bristol and take in Leeds, Stanstead and Heathrow before finishing in Birmingham. Bookings and the full list of dates can be obtained from Karen Flavelle, marketing coordinator for Zeiss' medical division, on 01707 871231.
The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers' examinations will take place on December 8 this year. The closing date for applications is October 8, and candidates can specify how many units they wish to attempt on the application form. WCSM examinations can now be taken unit by unit, as opposed to trying to pass the whole examination at one sitting, provided this is within five years. But it stressed this was a longer and a more expensive way of obtaining qualifications. Contact Tony Parker on 020 7236 2932.
