Optometrists, dispensing opticians and bodies corporate who missed the GOC's registration deadline face a £20 late fee. The deadline for registrants fell on March 15 for the year April 1 2013 to March 31 2014. Individuals had to have met their CET points target for the 2010-12 cycle before they could apply.
Speakers have been confirmed for this summer's Vision UK 2013. Professor Peng Tee Khaw of Moorfields Eye Hospital and Dr Waqaar Shah, ophthalmology representative at the Royal College of GPs, were confirmed for the June 11 event, where the refreshed UK Vision Strategy 2013-2018 will be launched. Its programme director Anita Lightstone said: 'Our partners have been central to the development of the refreshed strategy and now we would like their help in turning it into a reality over the next five years.'
