CooperVision has launched a patient registration scheme called Vision Xtra. The company said users could receive notifications of any order delays and had the option to ship orders directly to their patients. The scheme also included direct debit tools. Rob Healey, marketing manager of CooperVision UK and Ireland, said: 'Vision Xtra is of real advantage to practitioners, radically improving the way they can manage their patient orders. Practitioners can register free at www.coopervision.co.uk or over the phone.'
Tesco Opticians has promoted a webcam service allowing patients to sample different spectacle frames virtually. The service forms part of a new transactional website being launched by the firm that also includes an appointment booking system and live chat function. Tesco Opticians commercial manager Judith Robinson said: 'By integrating our website with our in-store booking system, we can offer real time online appointment booking - which is a first in optical websites.'
