Optician news in brief

Applications have been requested for the European Academy of Optometry and Optics' fellowship scheme. Last year's fellows, now entitled to use the letters FEAOO after their name, were announced at the academy's conference in Dublin in April 2012. They included Dr Shehzad Naroo, senior lecturer at the School of Life Sciences at Aston University. This year's application deadline is November 5, ahead of 2013's annual conference in Malaga. An eyewear exhibition has been launched by the London College of Fashion featuring 100 old and new frames loaned from optical businesses. Iconic frames by Cutler and Gross, Oliver Goldsmith, Ray-Ban and Moscot will be exhibited together with film and photography charting the history of eyewear. Those interested can visit Frame! for free at the London College of Fashion, John Princes Street, London, from now until November 3.
