MP for Stirling and co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Disability Group Anne McGuire will deliver a keynote speech at the Vision UK 2014 conference on June 12.  The organisation said McGuire had campaigned tirelessly for the disability sector and the keynote would be insightful and though provoking. ‘I look forward to sharing my experiences of working within the disability sector, and also welcome the opportunity to learn more about the wonderful progress of the current UK Vision Strategy,’ added McGuire.

* A Robinson Opticians in Ulverston, Cumbria has become part of the Conlons group. Alistair and Sam Robinson are to retire and dispensing optician Rachel Dacre, previously manager of Conlons in Kendall, will take over as practice manager. Three members of staff will be retained. Conlons MD John Welsby said: ‘We are proud to be a family business and delighted to be coming to Ulverston. We feel confident that we have taken on a fantastic location and excellent team.’
