Hollywood glitz is the order of the day for this year's Optician Awards and guests are being invited to dress for the event in their finest red carpet glamour.

The event takes place on April 4, the Saturday night of Optrafair, at the National Motorcycle Museum close to the NEC. Tickets for the sell-out black tie event have been despatched, inviting guests to add their own individual Hollywood touch to the night. Guests can expect a few movie-style surprises along the way.

The evening starts at 7.30pm with a champagne reception before guests move through to the Imperial Suite for dinner. Alongside a stunning audio visual show and review of the year, guests will also be invited to take part in a balloon burst competition which is sponsored by Essilor.

A celebrity host will then entertain guests before overseeing the presentation of the Awards by sponsors and invited VIPs.

Once all 15 trophies have been collected, guests will be invited to dance the night away to a live band at the after-Awards party or play the tables in the charity casino which is sponsored by Ocuco. The Hawaiian-style party is being hosted with sunwear specialist Maui Jim which will also be inviting guests.

Chips to play the tables at the charity casino will be on sale during dinner and all of the proceeds from the casino will be donated to the Optician Ironman Fund for Vision Aid Overseas. Carriages are at 1am.

Optician is providing transport to and from the Awards from the Hilton Metropole, Crowne Plaza, Windmill Village and the Manor Hotel. Check for details of transport and other FAQs at www.opticianawards.com
