Optimum Coatings transitions to employee-owned company

Managing director Paul Bailey presents team members with their ownership packs

Morecombe-based ophthalmic lenses and coatings company Optimum Coatings has transitioned into an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) company, which it said highlighted its recognition of employee contributions while ensuring business stability.

‘We’re empowering our employees by giving them ownership. Our team members are hardworking, committed and leaders in their field and now they are owners of Optimum too,’ said Optimum directors Paul Bailey and Mark Marland.

The new business structure would ensure every employer-owner shares in the rewards of their hard work and contributes to the company’s future success. It also promoted a culture of inclusivity and shared responsibility for its overall performance and sustainability, the company said.

‘The transition to an EOT provides employees with heightened job security. As stakeholders, they play a pivotal role in the company's decision-making process, strengthening the company's resilience in the face of economic challenges,’ Marland added.
