Significant changes have taken place at ophthalmic manufacturer Optimum Coatings. At the same time as the company celebrated its 10th anniversary, it also announced it had been taken over by consultancy firm MasterObjective.
The sale follows the retirement of the Optimum's founder and managing director, David Burt, who stated: 'I spent six months looking for the right buyer. We had a tremendous 10 years in business and it was really important to me that I left it in safe hands.'
Burt said of incoming MD Paul Bailey: 'Paul and MasterObjective bring a lot of expertise to Optimum coatings and I know our customers and employees can expect business as usual and a bright future.'
