Optisoft signs software deal with Relcon

The deal gives Optisoft access to Relcon's first-time user package suitable for all basic areas of practice management and a centralised system, which is aimed at small and intermediate groups. It incorporates patient details, recall, dispensing and electronic point of sale. Relcon's products also include a direct debit/contact lens management system that administrates all financial transactions electronically, produces volume purchase orders for all patients that are up to date with payments and enables distribution of contact lenses. Optisoft managing director Keith Sheers says the Relcon portfolio complements the Optisoft DOS and Windows-based products which are based on having terminals for each area of practice management. 'Relcon gives us a millennium-compliant single PC solution,' he says. 'Also, while we do business with some multiples, we did not have anything for intermediate-sized groups that wanted central control.'
