Optometrist creates sports vision course

A specialist sports vision course for eye care professionals who are interested in providing services at their practices has been created by optometrist Ed Lyons. 

Lyons provided these services to Olympians, footballers and rugby players at his Wolverhampton-based practice, Flint & Partners, which is part of the Hakim Group.  

‘When the difference between coming first and second can be as little as a hundredth of a second or fractions of a millimetre, having that visual edge is all important,’ Lyons commented.  

After completing a sports vision course almost 20 years ago, Lyons started working with a local shooter who lived with blurred vision. He sourced speciality contact lenses and the athlete ended up winning the British title.
