An optometrist who was struck off and fined for claiming payment for as many as 70 eye tests a day has failed in a bid for reinstatement.
Rejecting Ashim Parti's fourth attempt to be restored to the register, the General Optical Council's registration appeals committee chair Mercy Jeyasingham said the panel 'was not satisfied Mr Parti has addressed the concerns raised by the original committee or can be trusted to uphold standards in the profession in the future.'
Parti, who ran Mobile Opticians of Islington, worked around London and the Home Counties providing domiciliary services and to people in refuges, often to non-English speaking people.
