Optometry NI chair elected

Optometry Northern Ireland (ONI) elected Jill Campbell as new chair and Brian McKeown as vice-chair for the next three years.

Campbell has been part of the Specsavers clinical services team in Ireland, and was formerly optometrist director at Lisburn Specsavers for 17 years.

Campbell commented: ‘We are excited to further raise the profile of optometry in Northern Ireland and to continue our work with the Department of Health to ensure continued delivery of accessible, local eyecare for all our patients.’

She said that a huge debt of thanks is owed to outgoing ONI chair William Stockdale: ‘He has admirably led the profession in Northern Ireland throughout the pandemic with a steady hand and it is an honour to have the opportunity to take this forward.’
