Optometry showcases at Stem fair

Specsavers attended the Big Bang fair at the NEC in Birmingham on June 21-23 to showcase optometry alongside other science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem) exhibitors.

Lucy Knock, early careers manager at Specsavers, said: ‘Young people attending the fair were able to have a go at being an optometrist, taking a close look at their friends' eyes using the latest technology with the help of Specsavers clinicians.’

Attendees used virtual reality to explore the inside of an eye and played an interactive game with simulation spectacles to see how different eye conditions can affect reactions and vision.
