Hundreds of eye care professionals travelled to the Birmingham Metropole for Optometry Tomorrow earlier this week.
The College of Optometrists’ annual conference invited Dr Andrew Bastawrous, who co-founded smartphone ophthalmic tool Peek, to deliver the Charter lecture. He explained how Peek has now reached 72 different markets after initial trials in hard to reach rural communities in Kenya.
Other topics discussed during Optometry Tomorrow included using evidence from the latest TFOS DEWS II report when setting up dry eye clinics, and the potential to fit more patients with multifocal and myopia control contact lenses.
There will be further coverage in a forthcoming issue of Optician.
