Optrafair lenses: Happy glaze for visitors

Optrafair 2016 proved a great showcase for new lens technologies, with the leading companies in the field working flat out to demonstrate products to enthusiastic attendees. We look at the exciting new developments in the field

There was a high level of activity across the lens sector in Birmingham, as companies large and small demonstrated their latest innovations to attendees.

‘The stand has been really busy so far,’ said Tanya Storey, head of sales and professional services at Shamir. ‘We are launching a couple of new additions to the portfolio.’ The first of these new products is a collaboration with Tag Heuer. ‘We are now the prescription partner for Tag Heuer’s new Panorama and prescription series frames – a set of clear, tinted and polarised products.

‘Customers can do their ordering online and we then glaze the lens with a range of different designs available – single vision, progressive and a design for golf use. The frames are sent out to the practice complete with a Tag Heuer engraving and a certificate of authenticity for the lenses.’
