SPECTRALIS GLAUCOMA SIGNALS

Offering practitioners CET points and knowledge on advanced retinal imaging, through peer review sessions, lectures and workshops will be the main aims for Heidelberg Engineering at Optrafair London at the Olympia National from April 11-13.

The manufacturer’s Spectralis OCT device will be the highlight of its stand and the company plans to promote the benefits that its multi-modality imaging brings when compared to single modality OCT.

‘The Spectralis offers so much more than just OCT,’ said Heidelberg Engineering general manager Krysten Williams. ‘The multi-modality imaging system combines OCT, featuring unrivalled live eye tracking, and the ability to rescan in exactly the same place for precise follow-up, with comprehensive glaucoma management, infrared, MultiColor, autofluorescence, widefield, and stereo fundus imaging.’

The most recent addition to the Spectralis’ armour is the Glaucoma Module Premium Edition (pictured left), with a new traffic-light signalling system for glaucoma referral, which the company said enabled practices to see the returns on investment in Spectralis OCTs as soon they are installed in practices.

‘This software enhancement to the Spectralis makes the use of OCT immediately accessible to every practice’s clinical comfort zone, clearly indicating if the rim of the optic nerve head is normal, borderline, or outside of normal limits. It brings a new level of confidence to making referrals,’ said Williams on the addition of the new module.
