
Optical suppliers met at Welcombe Hotel for a two-day event hosted by the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA) to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and interoperability between devices.
Attendees learned about the benefits of the Green Charter during a presentation by Karl Jeebaun, CEO of Opticare Innovations, the commercial arm of the OSA.
Jeebaun also spoke about the adoptions of integrated technology across optometry and ophthalmology as the use of AI-powered tools became mainstream.
‘The file format of choice, DICOM, will ensure that outputs for patients and clinicians are clear and interoperable. Mandatory for all new devices, we are working closely with the DICOM task and final working group to ensure an efficient and safe patient care pathway,’ he said.
