
Leaders from optical professional bodies gathered at the Bloomsbury hotel in London as the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA) presented its strategy for the next decade at its annual general meeting (AGM).
OSA chair Roy Stoner told delegates at the AGM: ‘We are moving towards a totally integrated pathway for eye health, accessible via facilities anywhere in the UK and sitting within the NHS framework.’
Stoner spoke about the launch of the OSA’s commercial arm, Opticare Innovations, which he said would spearhead the adoption of e-health technologies.
‘Remote care systems are really taking off in the US and we are not far behind – we are ensuring that the profession is best placed to capitalise on new technological advances,’ he said.
