Oticon introduces enhanced power options to its Oticon Opn portfolio

Oticon has introduced a series of enhanced power options and new performance levels within its Oticon Opn portfolio to give patients suffering from severe hearing loss access to the company’s open sound experience.

New Opn 2 and Opn 3 join Opn 1 in an expanded portfolio that comprises three performance levels. An expanded fitting range up to 105 dB HL means people with severe-to-profound hearing losses can now pinpoint multiple speakers in complex and noisy listening environments, benefit from faster noise reduction and enhanced speech clarity.

The devices feature BrainHearing technology, algorithms which manage the processing of multiple speech and noise sources by operating a wider sound gate. ‘By giving the brain access to all important sounds, Opn reduces listening effort, even in noisy environments, freeing up mental energy so users can recall more,’ said Don Schum, PhD, vice-president of audiology and professional relations for Oticon.

All of the new Opn models feature Oticon’s OpenSound Navigator, which continually analyses and balances sounds, removing noise, even between words, allowing users to enjoy significantly reduced listening effort in both simple and complex sound environments. Devices can also connect to the internet by using the Oticon ON app, which allows wearers to control their hearing aids from within the app and connect with new technology such as the smart doorbell system on the IFFTT.com coding platform.
