OutsideClinic has joined forces with Alternative Angels, a Swindon-based charity dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable community members.
On Monday, September 16, OutsideClinic offered examinations of overall eye health to those in need, checking for broader health issues such as diabetes and hypertension.
Matt Burford, one of the participating opticians, remarked: ‘Eye health is often overlooked, especially in vulnerable communities, and we hope to make a meaningful difference by providing these essential services. It was incredibly rewarding to offer health assessments to individuals who might not otherwise have access to this kind of care.’
For vulnerable communities, access to these eye health checks can have life-changing ramifications, helping to detect potential health issues and prevent avoidable sight loss.
