Morphine was launched in France at the Silmo exhibition in 2005 and follows in the success of the Sporn Star model. No longer in production, Sporn Star also won the IOFT award one year after its release.

Parasite attributes its success in the Japanese market to its partner Eight Optic and its design, which is influenced by the Japanese culture, cartoons and science-fiction found in France during the 1980s and 1990s.
