More than half of parents whose children need vision correction say their child would be interested in wearing contact lenses, but 31 per cent of those have never considered buying contacts for their child.
A further 27 per cent of respondents have never given contact lenses for their child much consideration according to a US survey of 564 readers of Good Housekeeping who have a child of 8-17 requiring vision correction.
The report, carried out on behalf of Johnson & Johnson, claims that 42 per cent of parents with a child who currently wears spectacles say their child dislikes wearing glasses. Forty one per cent of parents say that their children do not always wear their glasses when they should and that 40 per cent have a child who feels self-conscious wearing spectacles.
