Patient Suzan Smith takes home SWOTY prize

Former Spice Girl Melanie C performed three songs at the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2013 event at London’s Royal Opera House last week.

Suzan Smith (also pictured) from Harrogate was crowned as the overall Spectacle Wearer of the Year after entering the Over 60s category.

The awards were again hosted by Gok Wan, with Dame Edna picking up the Services to Specs prize, Britain’s Got Talent comedian Jack Carroll winning Best Newcomer and model and DJ Amber le Bon named Style Star 2013. A total of £35,000 was raised for the Kidscape charity during the event, which was attended by celebrities including Lulu and Donna Air.
