Patients want high tech care

Advanced imaging technology is valued by patients, says a new survey

Receiving the most advanced imaging technology is the most valuable aspect of regular eye exams, according to a new study conducted by Optos.

Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed wanted advanced imaging in their eye testes, but the figure increased to 72% among those aged 55 and over. Two thirds (66%) of adults would be willing to pay more for an in-depth exam, with 61% believing their eye health was important, 59% wanting the reassurance that potential issues were found early and over half (51%) wanting the best retinal exam available.

The research was commissioned to gain insight into how UK adults view the health of their eyes as well as their understanding and expectations of eye exams.
