The portable hand-held instrument can be used to assess refractive error binocularly from a working distance of around 1 metre in seconds. The child-friendly design, ease and speed of use and comfortable working distance allow it to detect anisometropia and astigmatism, and to some extent strabismus and large spherical error in pre-school children quickly and efficiently.
