Plymouth University announces PhD studentship

Education

The new optometry department at Plymouth University is offering a fully-funded PhD studentship from early next year.

The research project will look at the visual outcomes of modern IOL designs, based on postoperative assessment and the biomechanics of the anterior eye.

Dr Phillip Buckhurst said: 'The successful candidate will develop a wealth of experience and knowledge that will support improvements to eye care as well as potentially lead to exciting opportunities to influence future developments.' The PhD student would be involved in the new optometry programme and could attend overseas conferences and create links with academia and industry.
