This was the largest gathering of RGP enthusiasts ever held, with over 600 delegates from 34 countries. I was looking forward to attending this conference as it was exclusively dedicated to orthokeratology and everything on the agenda looked inviting. As it transpired I was also the only UK speaker and, in fact, the only UK delegate. The first day was an education day and an introduction to orthokeratology fitting. In addition, the ring-binders we were given on registering proved extremely useful when I came to write up the lectures and I would suggest the BCLA would do well to emulate this format. It is impractical to document all the papers, so I will divided the conference content into a number of groups: the 'Safety of orthokeratology', the 'Corneal response to overnight wear' and 'New lens designs for hyperopic corrections' and 'High myopia'.
