Bausch+Lomb has sought to avert planed workforce strikes at its Waterford plant on December 21 with fresh remuneration proposals following an intervention of the Workplace Relations Commission.
Members of the Services Industrial Professional and Technical Union (SIPTU) with the Waterford facility had threatened to strike after they claimed pay and conditions had not returned to pre-2014 levels, when B+L made a series of cost-cutting measures.
Staff had planed to take part in a series of one-hour work stoppages during each shift and enforced a ban on overtime.
