Practice invests £50,000 in disabled accessibility

A Staffordshire based independent opticians has invested £50,000 in improving its disabled accessibility.

Peter Bowers Optometrist on Stone’s High Street has installed a brand new test room on the ground floor of its premises as well as a new ramp and improved lighting to help those with disabilities have easier access to the practice.

Alison Woodcock, dispensing optician and director, said: ‘We’ve already had six patients with restricted mobility use the facilities in the past two weeks alone, which is exactly what we wanted. We want to make sure that more residents of the local community can receive care that was previously unavailable to them. Patients who struggle with stairs will now be able to receive the same standard of care as everyone else. We’re hoping this can lead to more members of the Stone community having better eye and hearing health, something my staff and I are really passionate about.’
