Practice sponsors blind golf showdown

Sevenoaks-based practice Eyelines Opticians sponsored the 'Auld Enemies Cup'

Sevenoaks-based practice Eyelines Opticians recently sponsored a hole at the ‘Auld Enemies Cup,’ an England and Wales versus Scotland event contested by blind golfers.

Blind golf is played to Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews rules with modification to the rule that prohibits players from grounding their clubs in hazards and allows players’ guides to stand in line with the target. There are three categories of sight loss – B1, B2 and B3. Category B1 encompasses no light perception in either eye, up to light perception but inability to recognise shapes at any distance or in any direction. B2 and B3 involve a low level of usable vision, with players in B3 able to see more than those in B2.
