Williams Optometrists of Benfleet, Essex has won the Castle Point Borough Council Mayors Award for business excellence 2012.
Winners of the event, designed to showcase the best of local business, were announced at the annual Civic Dinner at the end of March. Williams Optometrists has been providing eye care across Castle Point for 40 years and received the award from the Mayor, Councillor Jackie Govier.
Organisers described the field of entries as strong and the most received in the five-year history of the awards.
Director and optometrist Stuart Humfrey said: 'We are delighted and honoured to be recipients of this prestigious award. It is particularly gratifying given the tough financial climate facing small businesses at this time. It is a positive reflection of the excellent, professional team we have here at Williams Optometrists.'
